Terms of Use

Last updated: 5 August 2026

The short version: the game is free to play. Donations are voluntary gifts, not purchases. Monthly gifts can be cancelled by you at any time in a couple of clicks, and if something goes wrong with a payment we’ll sort it out — just email us.

1. Accepting these terms

By using whackawoke.com you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site. Questions: [email protected].

2. The game

Whack-A-Woke is a free, satirical, family-friendly browser game with a Christian and conservative point of view. It is provided for entertainment. Nothing in the game or from the in-game “Coach” helper is financial, legal, medical, or professional advice.

Coach is powered by an AI language model. It can be wrong. Please don’t rely on it for anything that matters, and always weigh spiritual guidance against Scripture and your own church community.

3. Fair use

Please don’t: attack, overload, or attempt to break into the site; scrape or copy the game’s code or artwork for your own product; submit abusive, obscene, or unlawful nicknames or leaderboard entries; or use the site to harass anyone. We may remove content or block access for any of these.

4. Donations — the important part

5. Monthly gifts, renewal and cancellation

If you choose to become a monthly partner, your card is charged the same amount once per month automatically, until you cancel. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.

You can cancel at any time, yourself, without contacting anyone:

When you cancel, no further payments are taken. The month you have already paid for simply runs to the end of its period. You can also update your card there if it expires.

If a monthly payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry it over a short period. If it keeps failing, the monthly gift ends on its own — you don’t need to do anything.

Can’t get the self-service link to work for any reason? Email [email protected] and we will cancel it for you by hand. We will never make cancelling difficult.

6. Refunds

Because donations are gifts, they are generally non-refundable. That said, we are reasonable people: if you donated by mistake, were charged twice, entered the wrong amount, or a monthly gift continued after you meant to cancel, email us within 60 days and we will refund it. No argument, no guilt trip.

7. Availability

The game is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, bug-free, or compatible with every device or browser. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Your saved progress lives in your own browser, so clearing your browser data will erase it.

8. Intellectual property

The game’s name, code, artwork, audio, and characters belong to their respective owners and may not be reproduced or redistributed without permission. Scripture quotations are from public-domain translations.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with the site or the game is limited to the amount you have donated in the previous twelve months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated version. Changes that affect monthly donors will be emailed to them where we can.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which the operator is resident, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

12. Contact

Anything at all — billing, cancellation, refunds, bugs, or a word of encouragement: [email protected].
