The rule that defines this game
Nobody gets killed. Birds and animals are caught in a net, unharmed. People are handed a Bible — they kneel, convert and stop fighting. Conventional damage exists only for monsters and demons. Every human enemy in the game can be won rather than defeated, and that is the whole point of it.

🎮 Play Whack-A-Woke FreeNo download · no account · works on phone and desktopFrequently asked questions
Is Whack-A-Woke free?
Yes, completely free. There is no paywall, no trial period and nothing you must buy. The in-game store is paid for with coins you earn by playing, not with money.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. It is an HTML5 browser game. Go to whackawoke.com/play.html and it starts.
Do I need to create an account?
No. An account is optional and only used to appear on the leaderboard. Your coins and progress save in your browser without one.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes - iPhone, iPad and Android. Movement uses an on-screen D-pad on the left of the screen and you tap on the right to throw.
What devices and browsers are supported?
Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS or Android: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Opera all work.
Does anyone get killed in the game?
No human character can be killed. Birds and animals are caught unharmed in a net, and human enemies are converted by throwing a Bible at them - they kneel and join you. Only monsters, demons and hostile fish take conventional damage.
Is it suitable for children?
There is no gore, no profanity and no human deaths. It is explicit conservative Christian political satire, so parents and youth leaders should preview it and be comfortable with that viewpoint. The finale contains cartoon-styled demonic imagery.
How many levels are there?
Twelve zones, played as one continuous left-to-right world: Country Farm, Deep Forest, Fishing Lake, State Park, Wild West Desert, Frozen Peaks, Coastal Beach, Quiet Suburbs, Western Town, Church Camp, The Swamp and The White House.
How do I complete a zone?
Net the zone's quota of woke birds, then walk to the right-hand edge. The left edge is walled. The State Park is the exception - it has no quota because it is a protected no-hunting zone, and netting wildlife there costs points.
How do I tell which birds I am allowed to net?
Birds carrying a human face are the targets. Birds with no human face are ordinary wildlife decoys, and netting them costs points. Helper birds carry a cyan shield, help you net, and cannot be harmed at all.
How many characters are there?
Twenty: Buck, Daisy, Clyde, Bubba, Gunner, Jolene, Sierra, Tammy, Reeves, Mary, Wei, Rani, Lian, Arjun, Diego, Arash, Hamdan, Zeke, Ari and Omar. Each has their own mount or vehicle.
What game modes are there?
Four: Campaign (the twelve zones in order), Reverse (the same twelve backwards from the White House), Survival (one zone, twelve escalating waves against a clock) and Christmas (twelve nativity watches).
What are the difficulty levels?
Beginner and Advanced are available from the start, and a Master tier unlocks once you have beaten Advanced. You can pick mode and difficulty from the character cards or from the game-over screen.
Do my purchases carry over to the next game?
Yes. Weapons, skins and upgrades bought in the store are permanent and stay with you across every future run. Consumables are the exception and are used up when you use them.
How do I get coins?
Coins appear during play and are collected by walking into them or jumping for the higher ones. They are spent in the store on upgrades, tools and hunter skins.
Can I carry on from where I died?
Yes. The game-over screen lets you resume from the same spot, and you can also switch difficulty at the same time if you want it harder or easier.
What are the fiery arrows?
They represent lies. They fly at you in several zones and can be shot down before they land.
How do I free the caged animals?
Hit the cage lock with a thrown Bible. The cage opens and the animal runs away to safety, which scores points.
Why is the first load slow?
The first visit downloads the game's artwork, which your browser then caches. Later visits start much faster.
Who made it?
One small independent team. It is self-funded and free; donations on the support page are entirely optional.
