Bible Verses on the Last Days, Distraction and Staying Awake
These are the passages the game is built on. They are quoted in the commentary while you play, and gathered here with their references so you can read them in context rather than as fragments.
Awake, O sleeper
Ephesians 5:14 — “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” This is the verse the whole title leans on. The call is not to be angry at the sleeping; it is to wake them.
Ephesians 5:16 — “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
The last days
2 Timothy 3:2 — “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.”
2 Timothy 3:4 — “Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.”
Matthew 10:21 — on families divided, one of the hardest signs and one the game does not soften.
Matthew 24:36 — “But of that day and hour knoweth no man.” Which is why the game sets no dates.
The household
Joshua 24:15 — “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” The farm you start on is this verse, and the campaign is what it costs to mean it.
Proverbs 22:6 — on training up a child.
Spiritual warfare
James 4:7 — “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” In the game, demons are rebuked with Scripture and flee; they are never shot.
Ephesians 6:11–17 — the armour of God, and the shield of faith that quenches the fiery darts. The fiery arrows in the game are lies, and Scripture is what puts them out.
2 Corinthians 10:4 — the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.
Distraction and self-control
Galatians 5:22–23 — self-control as fruit of the Spirit.
1 Peter 5:8 — “Be sober, be vigilant.”
Romans 12:2 — “Be not conformed to this world.”
These are the ones the break reminders quote — see Christian screen time.
The invitation
John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:8 and Romans 10:13 — the passages the commentator returns to when it speaks directly to the player. Nobody in this game is beyond reach, and that is a doctrinal position, not a design convenience.
Common questions
Which Bible translation does the game quote?
The commentary mostly follows the King James and English Standard readings. References are always given so you can read the passage in whatever translation your household uses.
Does the game teach a particular end times view?
No. It stays with what the passages plainly say about being awake and ready, and does not take a side on millennial positions or set any dates.
Can I use these for a youth group lesson?
Yes, freely. The game is often used that way — see games for church youth groups.
Is the game free to use with a group?
Yes. There is no cost, no licence and no account needed for any number of players.
