The rule that defines this game
Nobody gets killed. Birds and animals are caught in a net, unharmed. People are handed a Bible — they kneel, convert and stop fighting. Conventional damage exists only for monsters and demons. Every human enemy in the game can be won rather than defeated, and that is the whole point of it.
The country you walk through
The game is a single continuous left-to-right world rather than a level select, so the campaign reads as one journey across the map. You start on a country farm learning to tell a woke bird from an ordinary one, and you finish on the lawn of the White House.
Zone 4 is a protected State Park and it is the one place with no quota at all — netting wildlife there costs you points. Zone 10 is a church camp. Zone 11 is, inevitably, the swamp.
Twenty Truth Defenders
You pick from twenty playable characters — Buck, Daisy, Clyde, Bubba, Gunner, Jolene, Sierra, Tammy, Reeves, Mary, Wei, Rani, Lian, Arjun, Diego, Arash, Hamdan, Zeke, Ari and Omar — each riding their own mount or vehicle, from a pickup to a quad to an airboat to a Humvee. It is a deliberately broad cast: the argument of the game is that this is everybody's country. See all twenty.
Faith, family and freedom — as mechanics
- Faith: the Bible is the weapon, and it converts rather than kills.
- Family: no gore, no profanity, nothing you would need to hide from a child.
- Freedom: caged animals can be released by breaking the lock with a Bible, and they run for it.
