The rule that defines this game
Nobody gets killed. Birds and animals are caught in a net, unharmed. People are handed a Bible — they kneel, convert and stop fighting. Conventional damage exists only for monsters and demons. Every human enemy in the game can be won rather than defeated, and that is the whole point of it.
The satire, in one mechanic
Woke birds fly overhead wearing recognisable faces. You catch them in a net. That is the gag, and it carries the game's argument efficiently — ideas can be caught and held up to the light, and nothing has to die for it to happen.
On the ground the targets are the activist, the bureaucrat, the cameraman with his laser, the crowd that has been told what to think. All of them convert. You hand them a Bible, they kneel, and they are on your side for the rest of the run. The game is unambiguous that the opposition is mistaken rather than irredeemable.
Where the satire stops
No real private individual is a target, no group is portrayed as beyond saving, and there is no mechanic anywhere that harms a person. The targets are institutions, narratives and ideas. If you are looking for a game that dehumanises somebody, this is deliberately not it.
The face rule — the skill under the joke
This is the real mechanic, and it is what separates a good run from a bad one:
- A bird with a human face is a woke target. Net it and score.
- A bird with no human face is ordinary wildlife. Net it and lose points.
- Every faced bird is nettable, and no decoy ever wears a famous face — so the rule is always readable from the artwork alone and never a guess.
- Helper birds — eagle, hawk, falcon, osprey, owl, pelican, swan, crane, stork — carry a cyan shield, actively help you net, and cannot be harmed at all.
Twelve zones, ending where you'd expect
You walk one continuous world from a country farm through forest, lake, desert, mountains, beach, suburbs, a western town, a church camp and the swamp, and it finishes at the White House. Each zone sets a quota of birds; clear it and head right. The State Park at zone 4 is the exception — a protected no-hunting zone where netting anything costs you.
